The Brighton Activity Centre runs courses for complete beginners, improvers and experienced sea kayakers. Our guides are fully qualified and experienced BCU coaches. We will guide you through an understanding of the sea, the effects of wind swell and tide, handling your craft both on and off the water, safety equipment and rescue techniques. We have a choice of venues to suit most abilities and weather conditions.
All equipment is provided for your course, yet do feel free to bring your own approved kit. You need to bring for a three hour session: Warm clothes to wear at sea, T shirt, fleece or jumper. Leggings/tracksuit trousers (not natural fibres as they get cold when wet) and a pair of trainers. Expect everything to get wet and bring a spare set of clothes to change into after the session. For extra wet sessions we shall provide wetsuits.
